The steepest day is Day 2 with the staircase to Ulleri, but the pace is relaxed and there are plenty of tea stops along the way.
What is the best season for Poon Hill?
Autumn (October-November) offers the clearest skies and best mountain views. Spring (March-April) brings the rhododendron bloom and warmer temperatures. Winter (December-February) is cold but quiet with excellent visibility. The monsoon (June-August) is rainy and not recommended.
Do I need trekking boots?
Sturdy trekking shoes or boots with ankle support and good grip are recommended. The trail has stone steps, muddy sections, and some rocky paths. Trail running shoes can work in dry conditions, but boots are safer and more comfortable for most trekkers.
